Former governor Adams Oshiomole has publicly criticized Minister Doris Uzoka of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Investments, over her proposed 1 billion naira allocation in the 2024 budget for a foreign trip to Geneva, Switzerland. His comments come after revelations about the extensive budget allotment surfaced.
Expressing his dismay, Oshiomole condemned what he perceived as extravagant spending on foreign trips, highlighting his unsuccessful attempts to meet Uzoka in her office on multiple occasions. He accused her of consistently being present at the Bank of Industry rather than her designated workspace.

During Uzoka’s appearance before the Senate Committee on Trade to defend the budget, she disclosed the allocation of 905 million naira for overhead costs and 8.1 billion naira for capital expenditures. In response to Oshiomole’s criticism, Uzoka defended her absence from her office, attributing it to ongoing renovations.
Asserting her ability to deliver results from any location, Uzoka justified her presence at the Bank of Industry and assured her commitment to working for the nation’s betterment.
