In response to the reported deaths during ongoing nationwide protests, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has issued a statement urging the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to exercise restraint and fulfill their duties responsibly.
NLC’s statement, titled “Stop This Massacre,” emphasizes that the decision to end the protests rests with the federal government. The union warns that if the NPF continues to engage in excessive force against protesters, it will have no choice but to intervene to protect citizens.
